My name is Adam Ruimschoot. I recently graduated from Utrecht University with a master’s degree in International Relations. This website is a personal project of mine. My research will focus on various topics related to international affairs and political decision-making of EU member states and non-EU countries within Europe, including Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia, Serbia, Türkiye, and Ukraine. Due to my interest in history, international relations, and politics, I want to create a platform where visitors can become better informed about European issues. The aim is to concentrate on contemporary topics as well as historical developments after the Second World War. Events prior to 1945 will only be briefly discussed, except when they relate to European integration and cooperation.
While the initial content on this website is limited in scope, it will be expanded over time. Sources consulted include official government websites and documents, international media outlets, and academic literature. This website focuses on presenting facts. Politically controversial topics will be addressed in a balanced manner by presenting arguments and counterarguments from different perspectives. The goal of this website is to inform the general public about topics related to the European Union and Europe more broadly. This website has been created for educational, research, and news reporting purposes. It is not a commercial project.
This website is also accessible through the domains europeanpolitics.eu, eupolitics.eu, europaindewereld.nl and europainderwelt.de.
